Kofi Asare - Executive Director
Kofi Asare, Team Leader (B.A (Hons) in Social Sciences, MA Governance, Law and Development) has been working to promote access to quality basic education at the community level in Africa since 2002. He is an education and governance expert with speciality in community engagement, networking, policy analysis and advocacy and has consulted for several local and international organizations including DfID (National Audit Office), Ministry of Education, and UNESCO (Paris)
Prince Boateng, Program Officer (BA Social Studies, 2006). He currently manages the HEAL 11 Project with funding from Ghana AIDS Commission in Twifo and nine other districts in Central Region. He manages the ARE office in Twifo Praso
Foster Donkor, (BED Social Studies) is the Finance and Admin Officer for ARE. He has worked as a community facilitator for ARE, a Finance Assistant at the Twifo Rural Bank and the District Health Directorates in Elmina and Saltpond.
ARE also works with district facilitators in all 10 district project sites in Ghana and 17 Rural Education Volunteers who teach in project school/communities in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District.
On our HEAL 111 project, ARE coordinates a network of 10 district based non governmental organisations/facilitators and 270 HIV peer educators in the central region.
New ARE staff, Oct, 2012:
Reginald Bentum is a Project Assistant working with ARE on the HEAL 111 project. He is responsible for providing technical support towards the implementation of community level behavioural change communication interventions in HIV.
Adam Chagani is a WUSC volunteer from the University of Waterloo in Canada and supports monitoring and reporing on community level HIV interventions in 90 communities in central region as part of HEAL 111.
Nana Yaw Asare is a part-time Administrative Assistant at the ARE office in Accra. He is a BSC Accounting student at the University of Professional Studies.
The ARE Board
Nana Kwadjo Gyampo is the new ARE board chair. He is an ICT consultant in the United Kingdom and a social entrepreneur.
Essel Yamoah Philip holds a Masters in Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Ghana (2009) and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Cape Coast. He has a level Two Certificate of the Institute of Chartered accountants (ICA). He is a co-signatory to ARE's bank accounts and the Chief Finance Officer.
Ato Breboh John is an anti corruption campaigner and holds Bachelor's Degree in Education Foundation from the University of Cape Coast. He also works as an investigator with the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice. He is a governance and ani-corruption expert and a founding member of A.R.E.
Amoako Botah Felix holds a Bachelors Degree in Education Foundations and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the university of Cape Coast and is a Faculty Administrator at the Valley View University. He is a Board Member.
Kofi Asare, Team leader and Executive Director is the secretary to the ARE board and a founding member.
With the exception of the Executive Director, all Board Members work 10% free for ARE as part of their contribution to charity.
